JMT’s IW series uses all vertical movement to perform all functions. This is achieved through to use of vertical hydraulic cylinders. The big advantage to the vertical movement is less material waste due to less clearance needed, consequently, punch tooling will last much longer as the stress on the punch is spread out over the entire circumference of the punch face, instead of just one edge of the punch as in the older style of “rocker arm type” of Ironworkers.
Our complete ironworker lineup begins at the ever popular 50 ton ironworker (IW45), whitch includes mitering ability (a non-mitering 50 ton machine and a compact 40 ton ironworker are also available upon request). The other models include the popular 60 ton ironworker )(IW55), the 90 ton ironworker (IW 80), the tough yet affordable 120-ton IW 110 ironworker and the massive 182 ton punching & shearing machine (IW165), which offers capacities up to 2 ½ inch punching ability with a 20 inch throat. Our entire ironworker lineup includes 9 different machines with all IW series machines from the 60 ton up having twin hydraulic cylinders, which allows the simultaneous operation of two different work stations.

Every work station has undergone considerable thought out design engineering. The notching station which comes with rectangular blades which allow side notching of various sizes, to process unlimited width materials. Next comes the punching station designed with quick change punch and die configuration also equipped with a swing away stripper. This station is capable of punching flat bar, flange, angle and channel iron. This brings us to the angle shearing station which is equipped with 4 sided cutting blades that can be rotated to enable the use of a fresh cutting edge. Next is the flat shearing station equipped with adjustable hold downs, and an entry feed table with adjustable guides and stops for proper alignment of the material. This station has specially designed blades to allow cutting a wide array of thicknesses without adjustment. No proper ironworker would be complete without a bar cutting station, JMT’s ironworker has three of these. One for round bar, one for square bar and one for channel shearing with the use of an optional blade.
